The BNP will, however, observe the programmes centrally only for four days and the affiliates will carry out the rest of the plans.

The central programmes on the occasion of the Martyred Intellectuals Day will include hoisting black flag and the national flag will be put on half-mast.

Paying homage at Martyred Intellectual Memorial at Mirpur on Dec 14, and holding a discussion at the Institution of Engineers on Dec 15 will be the other programmes.

The BNP units and wings at all levels have been asked to observe the Martyred Intellectual Day and celebrate the Victory Day in a befitting manner.
Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal will celebrate the Victory Day through month-long programmes beginning on Dec 1.
It will arrange a discussion on Dec 5 marking the fall of military dictator HM Ershad.
