Ashraf calls Khaleda ‘ignorant’, wonders how she became prime minister

Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam finds BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s claims that the government is not recognised by any foreign state is a manifestation of her ignorance.

He made the scathing remark at a meeting of the Awami League’s Central Working Committee at Ganabhaban on Friday evening.

Khaleda, while addressing a public rally in Nilphamari on Thursday, called the government illegitimate and said: “No country in the world has acknowledged this illegal government.”

Reacting to her statement, Syed Ashraf said: “No state acknowledges any government. A state is constant, but the government is not.”
“It’s her ignorance. Being so ignorant, how did she become the prime minister twice? She lacks basic concept about state and government,” he added.
The Awami League leader went on to add that her advisors did not “teach her civics properly”.
He also commented on the arrest of BNP leader Tarique Rahman’s human rights affairs advisor in London on charges of forgery and the son of a BNP leader for bribing an FBI official.
“These activities come easy to them. This evil force always commits misdeeds.”
