Defence lawyer Taherul Islam Touhid told bdnews24.com about the court order.

The others, besides Khoka, against whom warrants were issued are Tarikul Islam Jantu, Shahjalal Mamunur Rashid, Rakib Hawladar, Aftab Ahmed, Abdul Kaiyum and Abdul Alim.

Raju Ahmed, a Sub-Inspector (SI) at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, had filed the case against 13 people in connection with an explosion in front of the Election Commission Secretariat on Oct 27 last year.

SI Md Moshiur Rahman of the same police station submitted the charge-sheet on Mar 7.

Advocate Touhid said although 13 were named in the case at first, the charge-sheet had named 23.

“Khoka was included in the charge-sheet, even though he had not been named in the case earlier."

Former Dhaka City mayor Khoka is currently in the US for medical treatment.
