Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Wahidur Rahman lodged the case on Sunday night.
Some 90 unnamed people have been accused in the case of vandalism, bombing and obstruction to police duty.
Paltan police’s OC Morshed Alam said: “Charges of gathering without permission, road blockade, crude bomb explosion, involvement in clash wielding sticks and obstruction to police duty have been levelled in the case.”
He said no accused had been arrested until Monday evening.
A faction of the JCD had been agitating since Oct 14 after BNP chief Khaleda Zia approved the committee.
They demonstrated, clashed with new committee members and vandalised a statue of party founder Ziaur Rahman at Naya Paltan.
Later on Sunday, the agitating faction called off its demonstration at the intervention of BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
