He said the meeting would discuss Minister Abdul Latif Siddique’s offensive comment on Hajj and the current political situation in the country.
At a programme in New York on Sunday, Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Siddique said he was against Hajj, Tablig and Jamaat-e-Islami.
The video clip of Siddique making the comment at the event organised by the ‘Tangail Samiti’ was widely circulated in social media.
“So much manpower is wasted over Hajj. Two million people are now in Saudi Arabia for Hajj. They have no work or role in production. They only eat and go abroad using the country’s money,” he was seen saying in the video.
The BNP has already demanded that the minister be expelled from the Cabinet for his comment. Jamaat-e-Islami and Hizafat-e Islam also issued similar statements.
