Speaking to reporters at the Kushtia Circuit House on Friday, Hasanul Haque Inu said, "She has done this sort of lying before, and she's doing it again. This is wrong."

Islamic Front leader Nurul Islam Farooqi, who hosted two Islamic programmes on Channel i, was slaughtered at his residence on Wednesday night in front of his family.

In a statement the next day, BNP Chairperson Khaleda issued a statement saying the people were not safe under the "illegal government".

“The murder of Nurul Islam Farooqi proves that the reign of terror has been unleashed on the country and people are not safe anymore under this illegal government’s rule,” she said.

In reaction, Inu said, "Khaleda and her husband Ziaur Rahman have a history of sheltering, protecting and doing politics with murderers."

"She is blaming the government for the murders without knowing anything. Does she know who's behind the murders?" he asked.

The minister warned the BNP about its plans for movement, saying, "They can form movement committees all over the country, hold rallies and processions."

"But if they're carrying bombs and knives, the government will take strong action."
