"In view of the present socioeconomic and political situation, it’s not possible for any political party to carry out a movement," he told reporters on Thursday at his office at the Secretariat.

"There cannot be any movement without the people."

The BNP has announced tough movement after the Eid vacations to press for fresh national elections under a non-party government.

Muhith said, "The number of people and stakeholders have increased so much that everyone is busy. Stakeholders won't support any movement, considering their own interest."
On the possible effect such a movement on the economy, he said the economy would be affected if economic activities were to be stalled.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid feels the country's present situation was not suitable for a movement.
There is no issues right now that can trigger a movement, he told reporters at the Secretariat.
Ordinary people will not respond to such call, Nahid said.
In an advice to the BNP, he said, "We hope you will not burden the people with the results of your mistakes. Accept your mistakes and the reality, and prepare for the future when an election will take place constitutionally."
