On Tuesday Khaleda Zia attended an iftar hosted by Bikalpadhara Bangladesh (BDB), where she hinted at tough movements after Eid for early elections.

“We’re passing through a great crisis. The shameless and the corrupt are united. Under these circumstances, we have to forget left-right, Hindu-Muslim and unite to protect democracy and the nation,” she said.

“There is not a single good person in this government. Remember the man who was dubbed shameless by the artist Kamrul Hasan...he is with them too,” Khaleda said.

Kamrul Hasan drew a cartoon titled ‘The Shameless’ of Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, when he was president of Bangladesh, during the 1990’s anti-autocracy movement.
Khaleda alleged the government had committed countless murders.
“There is no alternative to a united movement if we want to protect the nation from them,” she added.
