“Appeal will end by June. So the punishment will be meted out by July or August,” he said at his Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JsSoD) party office.

“When that happens, the country will get rid of the poison.”

Pointing to BNP Chairperson, he said, “Does not matter how deep Khaleda Zia conspires, the verdicts given by the tribunal will be carried to its logical conclusion.”
“By July-August we will prove whose country it is, whether Bangladesh belongs to Freedom Fighters or Rajakars (collaborators of Pakistan).”
The International Crimes Tribunal, a special court set up to try those accused of crimes against humanity during 1971 liberation War, has already awarded death penalty to three -- two of them top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, Delwar Hossain Sayedee and Mohammad Kamaruzzaman.
The third is a former Jamaat activist Abul Kalam Azad alias Bacchhu Razakar who is absconding.
