John Kerry's cavalcade stuck in traffic jam caused by heavy rains in New Delhi

US Secretary of State John Kerry has arrived in New Delhi on a wet evening and there are reports that his cavalcade was stuck in a traffic jam on a road from the IGI airport to the city.

Though there was no official confirmation of the incident but officials at the traffic control room admitted that the roads to the city from airport were "clogged" on Monday.

"We have no such specific information regarding Kerry getting stuck in a traffic jam but yes we have several complaints of massive traffic jam on the roads leading to the city from the airport," a traffic department official told IANS.

According to an IANS report, journalist Nicolas Wadhams, who is accompanying Kerry on his tour to New Delhi, tweeted: "John Kerry stuck in traffic like everyone else on wet New Delhi night."

Kerry arrived in New Delhi from Bangladesh to take part in the 2nd Indo-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue where several important bilateral issues will be discussed on Tuesday.

In Dhaka, citizens suffered in severe traffic gridlocks throughout the day on Monday due to measures for safety and unhindered travel of Kerry.
