"But he is in trauma , he is very nervous, he had to spend Monday night in a slum after being chased by goons," said Tripura Transport Minister Manik Dey.

Dey said Rokhum has come back with a duplicate road permit that issued by Bangladesh authorities after the Indian High Commission intervened.

"The original road permit was snatched away from him, he was hounded around by goons, this is a serious matter, our official has been harassed and intimidated in an otherwise friendly country," Dey told the media.

The Tripura minister said his government was 'determined' to run its own bus on the Agartala-Kolkata (via Dhaka route).

"We will not back off from that. We have bought a new bus and we are not going to allow vested interests dictate us," minister Dey said, referring to Bangladesh-based bus operator 'Shyamoli Poribohon'.

He said the TRTC has deferred the launch of its bus service on the Agartala-Kolkata route (via Dhaka) but not called it off.

"We need to work on security and a few other issues before we launch it. It may take a few more days," minister Dey said.

TRTC has finalised the Agartala-Kolkata (via Dhaka) fare at 1800 Indian rupees—said to be less than what 'Shyamoli" charges on the same route.

'Shyamoli Poribohon' proprietor Ramesh Chandra Ghose on Tuesday denied any involvement of his company with the attack on Rokhum.
