The applications for medical and dental courses (MBBS/BDS), Bachelor or Diploma in Engineering and Pharmacy can be submitted until Apr 19.

Details of this ‘self-financing scheme’ along with the application forms are available on the High Commission’s website.

India draws a large number of students from Bangladesh with its different educational schemes.

Most of these schemes are scholarship programmes namely Bangladesh Scholarship Scheme, India Scholarship Scheme, and Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme.

In the ‘self-financing scheme’ for the academic session 2015-2016, candidates need to be eligible for application.

A minimum 50 percent marks in English in the qualifying examination, grade–XII, is required for all.

They must have at least 60 percent marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics for studying engineering, and in physics, chemistry and biology for medical and pharmaceutical studies.

Necessary documents have to be attested by both Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indian High Commission in Dhaka, and submitted on any working day from 12pm to 4pm with four complete sets of fill-up application within the stipulated time frame.

Original certificates have to be presented at the time of submission for verification, the High Commission said in a statement.
