A new research claims that men with good looks are likely to be selfish, reports The Independent.

Researchers at Brunel University London tested an evolutionary theory on how the more attractive persons profit from social inequality and how this practice in society goes on and on.

The study, on 125 male and female participants, found attractive men to be less generous.

Attractive women, on the other hand, showed a different tendency towards continuing inequality, the report adds.

Senior lecturer Dr Michael Price, leading the study, said the results suggested better-looking men might be more selfish and less egalitarian.

The tests showed men, perceived as ‘better looking’, were more likely to act selfishly in order to further their own aims.

But Price said the correlation was “nowhere near perfect” and that many good-looking men could be altruistic, The Independent report adds.
