Two chefs from Madrid have been flown in to give gourmets the opportunity to savour an array of authentic Spanish delicacies in the festival, which started on Thursday.

Cuisine varies from region to region in Spain. The expansive range of palatable dishes also includes a few slightly spicy and hot foods because of the Arab influence in its history.

Deputy Head of Mission of Spanish embassy Patrick Sandoval Nichols says people will get to experience two UNESCO intangible heritages, Mediterranean Cuisine and Flamenco performance.

At the inauguration, Maria Pilar put on a 'passionate' flamenco performance for the guests and journalists.

The guitar riffs and the uninhibited voice of the singer Angelica Maria added to the festival’s flavour.

Chefs Gonzalo Sedeno and Guido Miragoli tell bdnews24.com that they will try to prepare dishes from all the regions of Spain.

Tapas are small dishes and you can choose from many.

Tortilla Espaniola is so simple but hard to resist! It's essentially an omelette with potato inside.

Paella is a quite popular dish of Spain, and the chefs want to make it also with special pasta apart from its original rice variety.

Interestingly, it has certain similarities with Bengalis’ very own 'Khichuri' (hotchpotch).

Chef Sedeno also says that a whole steamed fish with salt and a tinge of a few light spices could be a great choice to relish the real taste of the fish.

Mustard beef roast will be another main dish the chefs hope foodies will like.
