Bangladesh Film Directors' Association General Secretary Badiul Alam Khokan, on behalf of 13 associations of directors, announced the lifting of the boycott after a meeting Monday afternoon.

Shakib went to the office of the Bangladesh Directors’ Association on Sunday where he admitted his mistakes and apologised for his actions.

Earlier on Saturday, the Dhaka-based film organisations announced their decision of indefinitely boycotting the actor.

The film star has been at the centre of controversy after his longtime co-star Apu Biswas exposed their nine years of secret marriage on a live television show, bringing with her to the studio their six-month-old son.

He brought the fury of the directors over him after saying in an interview that "it doesn't matter to him what the jobless directors and artists say about him".
