Drake, Justin Bieber rule American Music Awards

"Hotline Bling" hitmaker Drake and Grammy-winner Justin Bieber left the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with the most American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday night.

Drake took home his first AMA trophies for Favourite Artist Rap/Hip-Hop, Favourite Album Rap/Hip-Hop and Favourite Song Rap/Hip-Hop.

‘Work’, his collaboration with Rihanna also won for Favourite Song Soul/R&B.

Bieber scored the Video of the Year for the hit "Sorry", Favourite Male Artist Pop/Rock and Favourite Album Pop/Rock.

The Artist of the Year award was won by Ariana Grande while former One Direction band member Zayn Malik was announced as the New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile.

Collaboration of the Year award was given to Fifth Harmony featuring Ty Dolla $ign for "Work from Home".

Tour of the Year went to Beyoncé, who beat Madonna, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band for the honour.

After competing with nominees Adele and Rihanna, Selena Gomez took home the Favourite Female Artist Pop/Rock award.

Rihanna won the Favourite Female Artist Soul/R&B award.

The Favourite Male Artist Soul/R&B award was won by Chris Brown.

The Chainsmokers took home the Favourite Artist Electronic Dance Music (EDM) award edging out acts like Calvin Harris and Major Lazer.
