New cutting-edge halls at STAR Cineplex

Bashundhara City’s STAR Cineplex has got two new high-tech auditoriums.

First-of-their-kind in Bangladesh, they also have Dolby Atmos sound system.
 
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was joined by Housing and Public Works Minister Eng Mosharraf Hossain, among others, at the formal launch of the auditoriums on Tuesday.
 
Inu said, “The film industry of the country had entered into a dark phase. This government revived the industry and improved that situation.”
 
“There are also efforts to refurbish the halls,” he added.
  
Mosharraf Hossain recalled watching movies at the cinemas as a student.

“At one point, people stopped going to cinema halls and those theatres became deserted. STAR Cineplex can now attract the next generation,” he said.
Mahboob Rahman, chairman of Show Motion Ltd that runs and manages the STAR Cineplex, said they had plans to set up more cinema theatres like the STAR Cineplex.
The two new auditoriums – STAR VIP and STAR Premium – would give the viewers of Bangladesh a new experience, it was told at the programme.
Leading figures from the film industry attended the event, which was followed by screening of a movie for invited guests that included Saima Wazed Hossain Putul, the prime minister's daughter.
