Directed by Adam Dawla, ‘Boishommo’, Journey to the Heart, is the story of a 14-year-old rich and spoiled boy called Jaimy, who habitually discriminates against the underprivileged.

Dawla, a film maker and a TV producer, spent most of his life in Europe and North and South America.

In the early 1980s, he was a member of the production team of the German TV ZDF's famous crime series ‘Ein Fall für Zwei’.

‘Journey to the Heart’ is his first full-length feature film.

Father of the protagonist Jaimy is an industrialist who exports cooking utensils to Europe.

When Jaimy insults his father during a quarrel one day, the father gives the boy a pot and asks him to sell it as a way to prove his own worth.

Out in the open, Jaimy realizes how helpless he is on the streets of his own city.

The reality he sees around him is far from the reality he has known all his life as a rich boy.

The people that surround him now are the vast majority of Bangladesh, people who run from car to car in the streets to sell small things to earn a living.

The people who live in the slums, where children are involved in drug-dealing and stealing, believe the rich are responsible for their poverty.

But these are also the people who sing and dance in the evening, people who have faith in themselves and in their dignity, never giving up despite all the odds.

The film will begin at 6:30pm. Entry is free, the cultural centre said.
