Shah Rukh Khan, who played the loveable Raj in the film, says he is planning to celebrate the occasion in a big way.

"Yes, it is completing 1,000 weeks and it's a great feeling," Shah Rukh told reporters when asked about his feeling. He was speaking on the sidelines of his birthday celebration.

Released Oct 20, 1995, DDLJ was Aditya Chopra's directorial debut and it struck the right chord with the audience who lapped up Raj (SRK) and Simran's (Kajol) love saga that travelled two continents.

"Aditya Chopra was planning something. We will take 15 minutes of unedited footage of the film. We will also watch the film together. There is lot of affection attached to the film.

"It's a special moment for sure. It's the second longest (running) film. I think the first was a Chinese film. Yes, we will have a celebration," said the actor.

Looking forward to 50th birthday

The Bollywood superstar on Sunday turned 49 and says that he does not count age as he always feels energised. He is also looking forward to his 50th birthday.

When asked about his thoughts on turning 49, he said: "I don't count age and I feel good and energised. I will be shooting for 'Fan' from tomorrow (Monday)."

"Next year it's going to be more special as I will be turning 50," he said while celebrating his birthday at his house Mannat here.

He has gone from strength to strength since his debut film "Deewana" came out in 1992.

Despite being an outsider, Shah Rukh not only found fame and stardom in filmdom, he is still one of the reigning stars of the Hindi cinema.

His recent success "Happy New Year" has reaffirmed that he is the undisputed 'King Khan' of Bollywood.

Apart from success, his fan following has increased manifold too.

"Earlier seven to eight people used to come here and celebrate my birthday. Now media has also increased and also my fans," said the star and thanked the guests from showering love. Fans had gathered outside his residence to wish him.

"It's a great feeling. I feel I am not so good for the kind of love I get. I am a small person and the kind of love I get, I feel blessed. What more can I ask for myself! I only wish that everyone gets a life like Shah Rukh Khan," he said.

Won't mind joining next 'Dhoom' movie

He has been part of many blockbusters produced by Yash Raj Films and Shah Rukh Khan says he would not mind joining their popular 'Dhoom' franchise if the project is offered to him.

So far John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan have played the main 'villain' in "Dhoom" franchise.
When asked would he like to do a negative role in 'Dhoom 4', SRK said: "I am doing a film with Yash Raj and that's 'Fan'. If I get an opportunity, I would love to do it. I find it very cool."
The first "Dhoom" came in 2004 and the superstar said he was attached to the first instalment.
"I knew Sanjay Ghadvi and I liked the film. Aditya has never asked me for 'Dhoom'," he said.
What is your biggest fear?
"The audience have a lot of expectations from me and I don't want to disappoint them and that's my biggest fear. I hope I work hard and live up to everyone's expectations," said the superstar.
