The Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Wednesday said Bangladeshi students who want to study engineering in its premium institutions can apply now.

Details of the scheme are available at www.mhrd.gov.in and www.dasnit.org.

The Indian government has entrusted the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, the task of supervising admissions under the DASA scheme for the academic year 2015-2016.

This is not a scholarship programme. It is highly competitive, as foreign nationals, persons of Indian origin, and non-resident Indians seek admission through this scheme.

Students can enrol at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other top Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) through this programme.

The admissions are mostly based on SAT subject test scores.
