1,147 institutions record 100% pass rate

A total of 1,147 educational institutions have recorded a 100 percent pass rate in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams.

Last year, 849 institutions had achieved this feat.

On the other hand, number of schools without any success rate this year has dropped to 24 from last year's 25.

Overall, the pass rate in the HSC and equivalent exams this year is 78.33 percent, with 70,602 students scoring GPA 5.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid highlighted the key features of this year’s results before journalists on Wednesday afternoon.

Under the Dhaka education board, 51 institutions recorded a 100 percent pass percentage.

The number of such institutions under the Rajshahi board is 15, in Comilla, eight institutions have earned the feat, and five under the Jessore board.

Besides, three institutions under the Chittagong board, one under the Barisal board, 10 in Sylhet, and 17 under the Dinajpur board have also recorded 100 percent pass rate.

All the students of 859 institutions under the Madrasa education board and 178 under the Technical board, too, passed with flying colours.

On the flip side, eight institutions under the Jessore board, seven under Dinajpur, three under the Madrasa board, two each under the Rajshahi and Barisal boards, and one each under Dhaka and Chittagong have failed to open their account.
