They formed a human chain in the campus on Friday morning and demanded that the Barisal Kotoali Police Station Officer-in-Charge be removed from duty.

At least ten people were injured when students of the university clashed with police and RAB.

BU students blocked the road after a student was shoved off a bus over a dispute on fare.

According to police, students hurled brickbats leaving at least two policemen injured. The police then lobbed tear-gas shells, sound-grenades and fired rubber-bullets to disperse them.

At least ten people were injured in the clash and most of them were taken to the Barisal Medical College Hospital (BMCH), according to Shafiul Islam, the general secretary of BU Teachers' Association.

At Friday’s protest, students alleged the police took sides with the bus owners and fired at the students, injuring them along with university teachers.

Police were deployed at the campus at the time of the protest.
