Nearly 550,000 farmers will receive aid under the programme, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury told a media briefing at the Secretariat on Sunday.
Wheat, maize, mustard, peanut and various lentil seeds will be provided, in addition to DAP and MOP fertiliser, she said.
Each farmer will receive the support for one bigha of land.
The agriculture minister said the government expects the aid to produce nearly Tk 7.28 billion in crops, with a twelve-fold return on investment.
“The Ministry of Agriculture will provide the funds for the incentive programme. Raising the budget will not be necessary to cover the expenses,” the minister said.
The program will help to continue the growth of agricultural production, she said.
