Government endorses three railways proposals worth Tk 3.5 billion

Bangladesh government has greenlighted proposals to appoint contractor and consultants of three railways projects worth Tk 3.5 billion.

The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase cleared the proposals on Wednesday.

Korean Dohwa Engineering has secured the job involving more than Tk 2.31 billion as consultant in one of the projects.

Through this project, the 72-km rail lines on Akhaurha-Laksam route will be transformed into dual-gauge lines and a second dual-gauge lines alongside the new ones will be laid down.

Toma Construction Limited will get over Tk 1.08 billion to set up new lines from Ishwardi to Dhalarchar via Pabna.

Bangladesh Development Design and Consultant Limited has won the consultancy job in the project to set up dual-gauge lines alongside the old lines on Dhaka-Narayanganj route. The firm will get over Tk 119 million for the job.

Additional Cabinet Secretary Maksudur Rahman Patwary told the media the committee also cleared three other proposals.

They are related to the projects - Capital Dredging of River System in Bangladesh, Padma Bridge Management Support Consultancy and consultancy of feasibility study for Dhaka-Ashulia elevated expressway.
