NBR extends income tax deadline by two months

The deadline for individual taxpayers to file income tax returns has been extended by two months.

Those who are yet to file tax returns can do so until Nov 30, National Board of Revenue (NBR) official Syed Mumen said on Monday.
 
“The deadline has been extended considering the Hajj, Eid-ul-Azha holidays and the upcoming Durga Puja holidays,” he told bdnews24.com.
 
Though the income-tax ordinance says returns must be filed by Sept 30, the deadline is extended every year.
 
The income tax fair, between 16 and 23 Sept this year fetched the state Tk 20.35 billion – 21 per cent more than last year’s collection.
