NBR collects Tk 5.27 billion on Day Two of income tax fair 

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has collected Tk 5.27 billion on the second day of the Income Tax Fair 2015.

As many as 17,218 people filed their income tax returns on Thursday, NBR’s senior information official Syed A Mumen told bdnews24.com.
 
Of the 100,000 or so people served during the day, 3,228 registered for Tax Identification Number (TIN).
 
The fair, which started on Wednesday, will last for a week at the Officers’ Club on Bailey Road in Dhaka, the divisional headquarters, and the districts.
 
For the first time, Upazila-level fairs are also being held.
 
Mumen said Thursday’s collection was 11 percent more than the second day of the fair held last year.
 
On Wednesday, people paid Tk 1.53 billion as income tax at the fair.
 
A total of 14,998 filed tax returns and 2,705 registered for TIN.
 
NBR officials said the crowds at the fairs were huge on the second day.
