Banks asked to send loan default information on polls candidates to EC
Bangladesh Bank has ordered banks and financial institutions to send loan default details on city polls candidates to Election Commission.

A letter sent from the central bank on Monday directed them to update information on renewed, rescheduled and adjusted loans.
The banks will need to send them to the Credit Information Bureau by Mar 29.
Three city corporations in Dhaka and Chittagong will go to election on Apr 28. The deadline for filing nominations is Mar 29.
Nominations will be screened on Apr 1 and 2 while the last date for withdrawing candidacy is Apr 9.
The EC verifies loan information of the aspirants since loan defaulters are ineligible to contest the elections.
