Speaking at a programme of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Saturday, AMA Muhith pointed out that Bangladesh's economy had grown three percent faster over the past five years.
"Dedication and commitment of farmers and trained workers were at the root of the development," he said.
"There's also the factor of aggregate demand. We've decided to maintain this demand over the next five years," Muhith said hoping the entrepreneurs and businessmen would extend assistance.
Aggregate demand is the demand for the gross domestic product (GDP) of a country.
Muhith lauded the MCCI for its efforts to develop the economic sector.
The MCCI's new logo and two books were unveiled at Saturday's programme in Dhaka.
