Bhola, Nov 28 (bdnews24.com)—Ten bodies, seven of them children, have been retrieved from a Lalmohon-bound launch that partially capsized late on Friday at Nazirpur, some 40 kilometres from Bhola town.

The MV Coco-4 was carrying some 1,500 passengers from Dhaka, police said.

Dozens were injured as they tried to jump from the overloaded launch that began tilting after its hull was breached.

Police and locals joined in rescue work, recovering the bodies from the hold of the vessel where families, trying to reach home for the Eid holiday, were crammed.

Saiful Islam, second officer of Nazirpur Police Station, told bdnews24.com the bodies of seven children and three women could not be immediately identified.

Surviving passengers said the launch hull was damaged as the vessel moored at Nazirpur Ghat.

Passengers said they jumped from the launch as it began tilting to one side and letting water in.
