The 33-year-old strapping pacer climbed six spots to ninth with 623 points in the ICC ODI bowlers ranking. He is now the second Bangladeshi bowler in the top 10.

Shakib Al Hasan slipped down two spots to sixth with 660 points in the bowlers ranking, but retained the top position among allrounders.

New Zealand speedstar Trent Boult has overtaken Caribbean spinner Sunil Narine at the top of the bowlers ranking.

In the batsmen ranking, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has moved up one spot to 22nd while their middle-order lynchpin Mahmudullah scaled six places to 42nd.

Mushfiqur Rahim, the only Bangladesh batsman in the top 20, has dropped one place to 19th.

Bangladesh (95) have dropped three rating points after beating Afghanistan 2-1 and losing to England by the same margin.

The Tigers, however, stayed seventh in the ranking behind Sri Lanka (101) and ahead of Pakistan (89) and West Indies (88).

Despite losing six points after being whitewashed 5-0 in South Africa, Australia are still the number one ODI team in the world with 118 points, with the Proteas breathing on their neck with 116.
