Rain fear lurks around Bangladesh-England series decider in Chittagong

Rain may be at play to water down the hopes of fans of witnessing a nailbiting match between Bangladesh and England in Chittagong on Wednesday.

A constant drizzle throughout Tuesday ensured that the practice session ahead of the decider was dampened.

Overcast conditions largely prevailed over the port city and the same or even worse is expected on the match day as well.

With both the teams tied neck and neck after the two ODIs in Dhaka, the match at Zahur Ahmed Choudhury Stadium will seal the fate for the series.

The charged up atmosphere between the teams during the past matches was toned down by a rather energy-less practice, thanks to the elements.

But fans may take heart as the weather office has some good news for them.

Met Office senior weather analyst Abdul Mannan is upbeat that the sky may change its mood by Wednesday evening.

Speaking to bdnews24.com, he said that despite the nightlong rain that may continue until day time on Wednesday, weather may clear in time for the evening match.

But denizens of the port city find little for hope from the visible signs and with a level 3 alert in place.

Rain has kept constant company in Chittagong for the past week through night and day.

Apart from the final one-dayer, a Test match is also scheduled to start between the two teams here on Oct 20.
