A bandage was wrapped around the little finger of his left hand when he was going off the field after Sunday's training.

Later, physiotherapist Bayezidul Islam said an x-ray confirmed that the left-handed batsman had fractured the finger.

Bayezidul said it would take three weeks for Tamim, who sustained the injury on Saturday, to recover. Hence, there was no fear of him missing the England series.

"He fractured his finger after taking a hit during fielding. The wound is not a minor one, nor is it major - a bit bigger than a hairline fracture," the national team physio said.

"…his situation can be assessed after three weeks. But I can assure you that there is no fear in regard to his chances of missing the England series.

"Tamim won't be able to participate in skills training for now but he can carefully continue his fitness drills."

England are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Sep 30. The first ODI will be played on Oct 7.
