Asked to bat first, Prime Doleshwar rode on a fine knock from Imtiaz Hossain (86) to post a daunting 287 in Fatullah on Tuesday.

Kalabagan managed 98-4 in 21 overs before rain stopped play. Doleshwar was then adjudged winners by 49 runs on Duckworth-Lewis method.

In-form Imtiaz and Robiul Islam Robi (50) put 112 on the scoreboard for the opening stand to give Doleshwar a strong base.

Robi was stumped after reaching the third fifty of his career but Imtiaz added 62 more with Raqibul Hasan (66) for the second wicket to put his team in a strong position.

Imtiaz looked set for his third century in the league but legspinner Noor Hossain ended his 94-ball innings that was laced with six boundaries and two sixes.

The knock helped the experienced right-handed opener (490) reclaim the topspot of run-scorers list, overtaking Kalabagan Kriria Chakra's Hamilton Masakadza (419).

Skipper Farhad Reza (34 off 15 balls) then launched a late assault with Rony Talukdar (15 off 9 balls) as Doleshwar blasted 63 runs from the last five overs.

Considering Kalabagan Acedemy's limited firepower in batting, 288 seemed a steep target.

But there was a hint of a fightback when Irfan Shukkur (38) and Myshukur Rahman (23) made 47 for the first wicket.

But wickets tumbled after that before the rain finally ended the play.

Rain forced the other two matches of the day to be pushed to the reserve day, Wednesday.

Prime Bank Cricket Club will resume on 41-1 in 6.2 overs against Mohammedan Sporting Club who were bowled out for 224 in Mirpur.

At BKSP-3, Abahani Limited will be defending 276 against Gazi Group Cricketers.
