Celebrating his 200th List A match, Mahmudullah struck his career-best 130 in a colossal 203-run partnership with Marshall Ayub (103).

Sheikh Jamal rode on the superb knocks to post a challenging 290-5 after being asked to bat at BKSP-3 on Tuesday.

Mahmudullah studded his 139-ball innings with 12 boundaries and eight sixes, while Ayub struck 12 fours at the other end.

Pacer Mehrab Hossain snared three wickets, but was expensive. He gave away 45 runs in five overs for CCS. Left-arm spinner Saleh Ahmed Shawon chipped in with two wickets.

CCS were off to a promising start to their chase as Saif Hassan (47) and Pinak Ghosh (24) made 60 for the opening stand.

After the duo departed in quick succession, Rajin Saleh (51) tried to capitalise on the good base but Jeevan Mendis, Shafiul Islam and Muktar Ali ran through the middle order with a couple of wickets each.

Mahmudullah and Ayub cleaned up the tail to bundle out their opponents for 200 in 48.3 overs, condemning CCS to their fifth defeat in as many matches. Sheikh Jamal picked up their third win.

In other matches of the day, Mohammedan Sporting Club moved to the top of the points table by beating Kalabagan Cricket Academy by four wickets in a rain-reduced encounter.

Mohammedan are level with Prime Doleshwar on eight points from five matches but are ahead on the net run rate.

Electing to bowl, Enamul Haque Junior (3-46), Naeem Islam (2-56) and Naeem Islam Junior (2-54) helped Mohammedan bowl Kalabagan out for 231 in Fatullah.

Madhya Pradesh batsman Jatin Sahay Saxena (96) fell agonisingly short of his second List A hundred, while Mehedi Hasan Miraz (50) gave good support. The duo paired in a 100-run fourth-wicket stand.

Umpire Nadir Shah, who is supervising in domestic cricket for the first time since he was banned in March 2013, suffered a blow on the head in the sixth over of the chase.

Ezaz Ahmed played a powerful sweep that ricocheted off the hand of the square leg fielder and onto Shah's forehead.

The 53-year-old official was immediately taken off and replaced by a reserve umpire.

After he returned to Dhaka, Shah said he felt dizzy and would see a doctor soon, reported ESPNcricinfo.

The target was revised to 207 in 43 overs after rain struck in the 21st over.

Ezaz (60) and Upul Tharanga (90) put 111 runs on the scoreboard for the second wicket. After Ezaz perished off Mahmudul Hasan, Tharanga kept his cool and kept the scoreboard moving.

The dismissal of skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (23) triggered a collapse where Mohammedan lost four wickets for just 25 runs.

But Tharanga carried his bat to take him team over the line with three balls to spare as Kalabagan stayed winless in the tournament.

In Mirpur, Gazi Group Cricketers shrugged off Kalabagan Krira Chakra to bag their third win. An easy six-wicket win saw Gazi Group stay at the top half of the table.

Sent in to bat first, several Kalabagan KC batsmen got starts but failed to convert them into big knocks.

Tasamul Haque (47) and Hamilton Masakadza (40) were the top scorers as Kalabagan KC managed 223 in 48.4 overs.

Shamsur Rahman (75) and Anamul Haque (70) shared a 155-run opening stand to set up the chase before skipper Alok Kapali (23) and Saeed Anwar Junior (18) sauntered off to the target in the 46th over.
