The Tigers' position in Twenty20 Internationals, too, has not changed. They are still 10th in the T20Is.

Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan said on Apr 25 that Bangladesh had climbed to fifth in ODIs in a 'huge achievement' for the nation.

But in a reply to a mail from bdnews24.com later that evening, the ICC confirmed Bangladesh were still placed seventh, contrary to Hassan's claim.

The governing council of world cricket published their annual updates for the limited-overs ranking on Wednesday.

Bangladesh now have 98 rating points in ODIs. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Co did not lose or gain any point in T20Is as they trail Afghanistan (78).

In ODIs, West Indies (88) overtook Pakistan (87) for the eighth spot while Australia (124) and New Zealand (113) retained the top two places, respectively.

South Africa (112) overtook India (109) for third spot to trail New Zealand by just one point. Sri Lanka (104) and England (103) just a point apart above Bangladesh.

The T20I ranking updates have catapulted the Kiwis to the summit in the shortest format.

Kane Williamson and his men have knocked India. Although both teams have 132 points each, New Zealand have the edge in decimal fractions.
