Sent in to bat first, the Qalandars posted 125 for 8 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Shakib took the wicket of captain Azhar Ali (18) after his opening partner Chris Gayle (6) walked back off Shoaib Malik in the first over.

Mohammad Rizwan topscored for the Lahore franchise with 37.

The Qalandars looked good on 80 for 3 in the 14th over but Amir snuffed out any chance of a late assault with a hat-trick.

Amir sent back Dwayne Bravo (14), Zohaib Khan (0) and Kevon Cooper (0). The left-arm pacer returned 3 for 27. Shakib took 1 for 26.

The Kings cruised to the target in 15.5 overs in their chase.

They were wobbling at 4 for 2 in the second over. Shakib was dropped on 5 by Bravo. After that the Bangladeshi allrounder launched a counterattack and eased the pressure.

He cracked three sixes and fours on his way to 51 off 35 balls. It earned him the Man-of-the-Match award.

Opener Lendl Simmons remained unbeaten on 62 and saw his team to the victory. His 46-ball innings was bedecked with eight fours and two sixes.
