As result, he will not be bowling anymore in the ongoing Under-19 World Cup tournament on his home turf.

The 18-year-old off-spinner would be barred from bowling in any international cricket, said a report on the ICC's website on Sunday.

The news came as a big blow to Bangladesh, as Sanjit was one of their best assets in the bowling department. He played a key role in the Under-19 team's success in recent times.

He was reported for illegal action on Wednesday in Bangladesh's first match of the tournament against South Africa.

The team management, however, was informed by the ICC on Saturday night. So the youngster was sidelined in their match against Scotland on Sunday.

The ICC review panel conducted a video analysis, confirming that Sanjit's arm far exceeded the 15 degree limit in some cases.

So, it is unnecessary for him to undergo an action test at the moment to prove otherwise.

As per rules, he will have to amend his action before submitting to an assessment at an ICC accredited testing centre.
