Soumya, who is the vice-captain of the A team, is keen to recover his run-scoring form in Bangladesh A's tour against South Africa and Zimbabwe, he told reporters.

"I’ve tried forgetting what happened in India. I'm training hard to do well in the next tour.

"The focus [at the start] was on what I did wrong [but] the tour is very close at hand. No more time to fix mistakes... now I will stick to regular practice."

The aggressive left-handed batsman could not score a total of 100 runs in the whole tour. He made 9, 24 and 1 in the three one-dayers against India A last month.

In the three-day match against Ranji Trophy champions Karnataka, Soumya score 0 and 43 before contributing 0 and 19 against India A in the last game of the tour.

But the 25-year old wants to leave the poor spell behind him and enjoy his batting in the forthcoming tour.

"I always enjoy the game of cricket. I’ve become vice-captain, [so] I’m not thinking about the India tour."

"I will enjoy my batting and the whole game and accept whatever performance can manage."

As he prepares himself to adopt to South African wickets and conditions, Soumya wants to do well with the ball too.

"As an allrounder, I always put emphasis on bowling... I will try to improve whenever I get the chance.

Bangladesh A will fly to South Africa on Wednesday. Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury will lead them in the five-week tour.
