The Bangladesh skipper’s friend ‘Bablu’ said Mashrafe was taken to the Apollo Hospital around 2:30 am on Friday.
“He still has high fever,” he told bdnews24.com.
He will not be able to play matches in the national league’s third round because of the illness.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury said they were yet to get details of his condition.
“It’s been confirmed that he has been diagnosed with dengue,” he said. “I’ve spoken with the doctor at the hospital.”
Mashrafe’s one-year-old son ‘Sohel’, too, has been suffering from high fever for the past several days.
He told this correspondent on Thursday afternoon that he had fever after attending to his son overnight.
