It has been pouring in Dhaka since last night due to the influence of cyclone 'Komen'.

Heavy downpour washed out the morning session and heavy rain resumed again in the afternoon, prompting the umpires to call off the day’s play after lunch on Friday.

The pitch and the outfield have been completely covered since last night. None of the teams even started for the ground due to the downpour.

Bangladesh were 246 for 8 after opting to bat first at the end of the first day's play at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The hosts are looking to Nasir Hossain, who is unbeaten on 13, to take the score to around 300.

The weather had also played spoilsport in the drawn first Test in Chittagong. Only 221 overs were bowled as rain curtailed play on the second and third days before washing out the last two days.
