Test Captain Mushfiqur greets people, seeks blessings

Bangladesh Test Captain Mushfiqur Rahim has greeted the people of the country after joining the Eid prayers in Chittagong and sought blessings to perform well in the forthcoming Test matches against South Africa.

Bangladesh players Mahmudullah, Taijul Islam and South African skipper Hashim Amla joined the Eid congregation at the Damparha Police Lines Mosque on Saturday.
 
Officials of Bangladesh Cricket Board and the visiting team also attended.
 
Returning to the hotel after prayers, Test skipper Mushfiqur told journalists he had been celebrating the Eid away from his parents for the first time in the country.
 
His wife, Jannatul Kefayat Mondy, was with him.
 

“We performed well in the one day series before Eid. We want to perform well in the Test series that follows Eid,” he said.
“We seek blessings of the people of the country,”
The Tigers have a two-day holiday for  Eid.
Eight players left the hotel to celebrate the Eid while another six stayed back.
Mushfiqur greeted the people on the occasion of Eid.
“Everyone remain safe and fine, wherever you are. Celebrate the Eid peacefully. Enjoy together .”
Chief Selector Faruque Ahmed said the players on the Eid vacation will join the team on Sunday.
The team would begin its practice session on Monday, he said.
The first of the two-Test series against South Africa will begin on Tuesday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
