Team Manager Mohammed Moosajee said TV crew brought the drone to get views and images for use on their YouTube channel, a BBC report said on Thursday.

"We do apologise to the Bangladesh military and security forces," It quoted Moosajee as saying.

Bangladesh Cricket Board officials said the Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) banned flying unmanned objects in December last year.

The Proteas arrived in Dhaka last Tuesday to play two Tests, two T20s, and three ODIs against the hosts.

The drone was floated over the stadium on Wednesday.
