The Tigers sealed their first-ever series against India by winning the first two matches before losing the third and final ODI by 77 runs on Wednesday.

Chasing India's big total of 317 for 6, Bangladesh folded for 240 in 47 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

“We lost too many wickets in the middle (overs). The batsmen got starts but couldn't get going," Mashrafe said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

South Africa are scheduled to tour Bangladesh next month and the Tigers captain is looking forward to it.

“South Africa are coming here next week and our fitness levels need to be up there.

“We need to keep going the way we are, but it's also important to learn from the mistakes. Hopefully, we can play well against South Africa as well.”

The skipper believes Bangladesh gained much from the series against their neighbours.

"The way we have been playing, we can take a lot of positives from it. Not to forget, we can learn from the mistakes we made today."

The 31-year old was all praises for 19-year old pace find Mustafizur Rahman.

"Mustafizur has been brilliant, he handles the pressure well too. He's a newcomer and there's a lot for him to learn. Hopefully, he can keep going like this."

The teenager was adjudged Man-of-the-Series for his world record haul of 13 wickets in a three-match series.

He signed up beside Australia fast bowler Ryan Harris who also had 13 wickets in three matches but it was in a five-match series, against Pakistan in 2009.
