23-strong preliminary Bangladesh squad announced for India series

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 23-strong preliminary squad for the series against India next month.

Opening batsman Anamul Haque and pacer Shafiul Islam have returned to the Bangladesh team after recovering from injuries, according to a statement released by BCB on Sunday.
 
It said the players will have to report to the strength and conditioning coach, Mario Villavarayan, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at 10:15am on May 20.
 
The Indian cricket team will arrive in Dhaka on Jun 7 to play one Test and three ODI matches.
 
Fatullah’s Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium will host the Test from June 10 while all three ODIs will be played on Jun 18, 21 and 24 at the SBNCS in Mirpur.
 
Anamul Haque was in the Tigers' World Cup squad, but his tournament ended early when he suffered a dislocated shoulder during the match against Scotland.
 
Since his recovery only recently, he has been playing in the domestic cricket leagues, and now got the call to join the national team.
 
Shafiul Islam had missed the series against Pakistan last month due to a leg injury.
 
Pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who debuted in the only Twenty20 International against Pakistan, also got called up in the preliminary squad for the India series.
