Tamim joined the double century club cracking 206 against Pakistan that led his team to register their first draw against their sub-continent rivals at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in the fifth day of the Khulna Test.

He became the second batsman to achieve the feat after Mushfiq’s 200 against Sri Lanka in Galle.

He combined with Imrul Kayes for a world record breaking second innings opening stand of 312 runs on the way to his 278-ball innings that contained 17 boundaries and seven sixes.

“I don’t think this record will be broken in a year,” said Tamim at the post-match press conference.

“Mushfiq has the highest probability of breaking it. He is in unbelievable form.”

Tamim was also all praise for his opening partner Kayes.

“I’ve had many partners in my career. I enjoyed batting with everyone. We (Tamim and Imrul) are lucky to have a good partnership.”

Tamim thinks any batsman will enjoy having Kayes as partner.
