'Can’t ask for more than this,' says Bangladesh captain Mashrafe after crushing Pakistan in T20I

Delighted at his side’s total domination of Pakistan in the ODIs and T20 International, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza feels asking for more from the team is difficult.

Bangladesh followed up their 3-0 ODI sweep with a thumping 7-wicket win against them at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

It was Bangladesh’s first T20I win against Pakistan after seven previous attempts.

The Tigers ended their 16-year wait of a win against Pakistan in the first ODI last week by beating them by 79 runs.

They went on to demolish the 1992 World Cup champions by seven and eight wickets in the next two.

“More cannot be asked for from a team. We have won playing well in all the matches.

“Playing better than this is not possible. We must improve more and fix our mistakes,” Mashrafe said at the post-match press conference.

Mashrafe thinks it was important to maintain the winning momentum before the Tests.

“If we had lost today, issues would’ve been raised. We have won it.

“We have proved we can win against the best team too. More importantly, we have proved we are consistent.”

Mashrafe, however, warned his teammates that one T20 win would not change things much.

If the players continued to work on their mistakes, Bangladesh will be force to reckon with in the 20-over version, Mashrafe added.

“We have once lost to Hong Kong. We have to improve a lot more (in T20 cricket).”
