The Tigers have handed Pakistan, led by Azhar Ali in the 50-over format, a humiliating 3-0 series defeat in the ODIs with the tourists still looking for a win.

The Tigers will face Pakistan in the one-off T20 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Having secured the series in first two matches by 79 runs and 7 wickets, Bangladesh routed Pakistan by eight wickets in the last one.

With a dazzling all-round show in all three matches, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Co have earned Afridi’s respect.

“Bangladesh are playing very well at the moment. They are playing as a team. They did well in the World Cup and are having good momentum.”

Mashrafe, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Musfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah have been playing together for the last eight years. Rubel Hossain joined them six years ago.

Afridi pointed out playing as a unit for such a long time was crucial.

“Bangladesh have been using the same unit for a long time. They are playing well in the current combination. We have turned around decisively to beat them tomorrow (Friday).”
