The Tigers will take on the Sri Lankans in their third group match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Al-Amin’s World Cup dream was shattered after he was sent back home for flouting team rules.
“The one who did wrong has definitely been punished. It is his personal matter. I believe it won’t have any effect on the team,” Mashrafe said at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old thinks Bangladesh are the most disciplined side of the World Cup.
“There is no rule-breaker in our side. It is totally fine. We are preparing ourselves for tomorrow’s match.”
Mashrafe is the one who recommended Al-Amin for the World Cup squad. The skipper thinks the episode has ended.
Al-Amin’s expulsion made way for Shafiul Islam, who gets a shot in his second World Cup.
“We have got an experienced player. He (Shafiul) has the experience of playing at this level, in fact Al-Amin didn’t. Shafiul won us a couple of matches the last time. We will fight with what we have.”
The ICC’s Technical Committee approved Shafiul as a replacement for Al-Amin on Monday.
Shafiul has played 52 ODIs and took six wickets in six matches of the 2011 World Cup.
