Shakib scored a century and bagged four wickets to help his side seize victory at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhdury Stadium on Friday.

The all-rounder joined the 2,000-run club with a hundred wickets in ODIs on home turf. Only three cricketers performed the feat before him. They are Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya, Australia’s Steve Waugh and South Africa’s Jacques Kallis.

The top Bangladesh all-rounder played 71 matches to sign up beside them.

Meanwhile, Mushfiq became the fourth Bangladesh batsman to join the 3,000-run club after Mohammad Ashraful, Shakib and Tamim Iqbal.

The wicketkeeper batsman played 136 matches to step into the page with an average of 28.61 off 125 innings. His highest is 117.

Mushfiq and Shakib paired up for the Tigers’ highest fifth wicket stand of 148 runs, off 142 balls. They scored at a brisk run rate of 6.25 runs per over adding 48 runs in the five overs’ batting powerplay (from overs 36 to 40).

Shakib contributed 84, while Mushfiq added 55 in the partnership.

Shakib was also part of the previous record of 119, with Raqibul Hasan, against South Africa in 2008.

This, however, Shakib and Mushfiq’s second 100-run fifth-wicket stand. The previous one, in 2010, was also against Zimbabwe at Harare when they paired for 116.
