The first ODI is scheduled for 1:30pm local time at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

The Tigers are currently placed ninth with 69 points while Zimbabwe lurk 11 points behind in the International Cricket Council (ICC) team rankings.

Bangladesh can further their lead and in the process reduce gap with New Zealand and West Indies, both on 96 points, an ICC media release stated on Thursday.

A 3-2 series win will see the hosts gain another nine-point advantage over the Africans, while a 4-1 victory would lead to a gap of 17 points. A clean sweep will hoist Bangladesh to a 22-point lead over their opponents.

Bangladesh whitewashed the tourists 3-0 in the Test series.
